Media literacy advocates across Washington are celebrating a major milestone! Our state’s newly revised English Language Arts standards now include an entirely new domain entitled Research and Media Literacy. While the Common Core standards have long referenced “media,” Washington’s revision elevates media literacy to an instructional priority.

AME Launches Media Literacy Champion Initiative

The new Media Literacy Champion Initiative will recognize Washington educators and community leaders who are advancing media literacy in powerful and innovative ways.
